Emmy® Award-winning composer Luis Parody is captivated by the intricate dance between music, storytelling, and visual art. A Colombian native, Luis has carved out a distinctive niche in the world of film, television, and documentary scoring, where his evocative compositions resonate on both emotional and intellectual levels.
After relocating to Los Angeles in 2017, Luis had the privilege of interning at Hans Zimmer’s renowned Remote Control Productions studio. This invaluable experience set the stage for his successful career, where he spent six years contributing his unique musical voice to PBS/KCET. In 2023, Luis relocated to Miami, FL, where he continues to thrive creatively and professionally.
Luis’s work is characterized by his holistic approach to composition, where he excels in creating immersive sonic worlds that bring stories to life. His most recent achievement includes scoring the PBS documentary on the legendary 1930s Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros, titled "America Tropical," for which he won an Emmy® for Music Composition. His music can also be heard in critically acclaimed productions such as the Emmy®-nominated HBO docuseries "Hostages," National Geographic’s compelling documentary "Colombian Hippo Invasion," and KCET’s Emmy® award-winning series "Artbound." Notably, his contributions to the Emmy®-winning food series "The Migrant Kitchen" further solidify his reputation as a composer of exceptional skill and versatility.
Beyond the studio, Luis is deeply engaged in regenerative agriculture, a practice that reflects his commitment to sustainability and holistic living. He has also ventured into the world of real estate, where he is currently passionately engaged. Luis balances his creative endeavors with a passion for meditation, and martial arts. He is devoted to his loved ones and friends, always seeking ways to serve a purpose greater than himself.
